Private by design

Your password never leaves MedNode

Sign-in happens on MedNode’s own page (OAuth 2.1). The AI assistant only receives an encrypted, time-limited access token — never your credentials.

Scoped to you, and only you

Every tool operates strictly on the signed-in patient’s own records. There is no way to query another person’s data.

Expires and revokes cleanly

Access expires automatically after ~6 days. You can revoke it instantly at any time by removing the connector in your AI app’s settings.

Encrypted end to end

Your records stay AES-256 encrypted on MedNode, in line with the DPDP Act 2023. Connecting an AI assistant copies nothing out of your vault.

Troubleshooting

“MedNode returned an error when connecting”

Usually a one-off network hiccup — remove the connector and add it again. If it persists, check status at mcp.mednode.in/health.

Tools don’t appear in the chat

Fully restart the AI app after adding the connector, and make sure the connector is enabled for the current chat (Claude shows it under the tools/paperclip menu).

“Session expired” while chatting

Your ~6-day authorization ended. Reconnect the MedNode connector (or disconnect and re-add it) and sign in again.

Sign-in fails with correct password

If your account has 2FA enabled, enter the 6-digit code in the 2FA field on the sign-in page. Reset your password at mednode.in if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI assistant see my MedNode password?

No. You sign in on MedNode’s own page using standard OAuth 2.1. The assistant receives only an encrypted access token scoped to your account — your password is never shared with it.

Does connecting cost anything?

The connector itself is free. Tools run against your existing MedNode plan; notably, the health summary and clinical guideline check use free endpoints and do not consume your monthly AI-insight quota.

Can the AI change anything in my account?

Almost everything is read-only. The two exceptions are booking a doctor appointment (created as “pending” until the doctor confirms, and assistants are instructed to confirm details with you first) and sending a message to a lab about your own booking.

How do I disconnect?

Remove the connector in your AI app’s settings (e.g. Claude → Settings → Connectors → remove MedNode). Access also expires automatically after about 6 days unless you reconnect.

Why does it ask me to sign in again after a few days?

For safety, each authorization lasts about 6 days — matching MedNode session lifetimes. Reconnecting takes a few seconds.
